An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a major wellbeing and children’s services programme within a local authority setting. This role will work closely with a Strategic Head of Service and Programme team to support the implementation of new children’s social care reforms. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and developing practice, supporting improvement activity, and ensuring projects are delivered effectively and on time. The organisation is ambitious and improvement-focused, with a strong commitment to strength-based, relational and collaborative practice when working with children, young people and their families. The programme is centred on making a meaningful and positive difference to outcomes for children and young people.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating project activity to support the delivery of wellbeing and children’s services initiatives
- Working within a programme framework to plan, manage and deliver projects
- Supporting engagement with senior stakeholders and programme leads
- Managing risks, issues and milestones to ensure successful delivery
- Producing reports, updates and project documentation
- Supporting service improvement and reform implementation
Key requirements:
- Proven experience in project management, ideally within wellbeing, social care or public sector environments
- Experience of working on complex change or reform programmes
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively at a senior level
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work onsite three days per week
- Basic DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one)
