The Role
You will handle a diverse and rewarding caseload, advising clients across a full range of private client matters. You will work closely with the team and contribute to the growth and reputation of the department through excellent client service and proactive business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting Wills, including those involving trusts for complex family or tax situations
- Advising on Inheritance Tax (IHT) and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) planning
- Preparing and registering LPAs and EPAs
- Managing Court of Protection matters
- Administering taxable and non-taxable estates
- Advising on trust creation and identifying trust administration requirements
- Supporting departmental marketing initiatives and client relationship management
- Meeting agreed fee-earning and financial targets
- Ensuring compliance with all legal, financial and risk procedures
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
- Demonstrable experience across a broad range of private client matters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage a full caseload with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of AML regulations and the Solicitors Account Rules
- Confident using case management systems
Desirable:
- STEP qualified or working towards the STEP Diploma
- Experience advising on high net worth or agricultural estates
- Supervision or mentoring experience
- Business development or public speaking experience
- Existing client following
