Lynx Employment Services are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced plumber to join a busy repairs and maintenance team carrying out domestic plumbing work across council properties in Barnsley. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified plumber with experience in responsive maintenance, repairs and installations, who takes pride in delivering a high-quality service and excellent customer care.
The Role
You will carry out a wide range of plumbing repairs, maintenance and installation work within occupied and void domestic properties, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all aspects of domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
- Install and repair hot and cold water systems, sanitary ware, showers and associated pipework.
- Renew and repair external gutters, rainwater pipes and soil stacks where required.
- Repair external water services and stop taps.
- Diagnose plumbing faults and complete repairs on first visit where possible.
- Work safely at height when required using appropriate equipment.
- Liaise professionally with tenants, colleagues and other trades.
- Maintain accurate electronic job records using handheld/mobile devices.
- Ensure van stock is maintained to support efficient service delivery.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 Plumbing (minimum).
- NVQ Level 3 or willingness to work towards achieving it.
- Proven experience carrying out domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
- Experience working with a variety of hot water systems, showers and sanitary ware.
- Knowledge of plumbing Health & Safety procedures.
- Experience working at height.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Basic IT skills and experience using mobile technology to receive and complete jobs.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
Desirable
- Plumbing apprenticeship.
- Multi-skilled maintenance experience.
- Experience working within social housing or local authority maintenance.
