We are recruiting for an experienced Council Tax Officer to support the administration of Council Tax services on a 3-month temporary assignment (could be extended).
Role: Council Tax Officer
Pay: £16.08 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Working Pattern: Hybrid working
Duration: 3 months
Essential Requirements:
- Previous Council Tax administration experience
- Experience using NEC and Enterprise
- Strong knowledge of Council Tax legislation
- Confident handling liability changes, disputes, exemptions and discounts
- Good written communication skills
- Ability to work accurately within a busy Council Tax team
Key Duties:
- Administer Council Tax accounts in line with current legislation
- Process changes and disputes relating to liability
- Apply exemptions and discounts correctly
- Contact customers by email and telephone where required
- Support the wider Council Tax team to ensure cases are handled accurately and efficiently
This role would suit an experienced Council Tax professional who is confident using NEC and Enterprise and can work independently with minimal supervision.
