We are recruiting for three experienced Procurement Consultants to join a high-performing public sector procurement team. The positions are mainly remote, with the base location in Shrewsbury. The requirement is for three different areas of procurement expertise:

  • 1 x Social Care Procurement Consultant Adults, Children's Services and Public Health
  • 1 x ICT Procurement Consultant
  • 1 x Generalist Procurement Consultant

The Role

You will take responsibility for end-to-end procurement exercises, working closely with technical subject matter experts and key stakeholders to deliver compliant, commercially robust and value-driven outcomes. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading pre-market engagement
  • Advising stakeholders on appropriate routes to market
  • Developing procurement strategies and supporting governance approvals
  • Preparing procurement and tender documentation
  • Acting as a critical friend during specification development
  • Designing commercial models and pricing schedules
  • Developing technical evaluation questions and weightings
  • Managing procurement exercises through Delta/Mercell eTendering systems
  • Managing supplier communications and procurement clarifications
  • Facilitating competitive dialogue where required
  • Managing evaluations and moderation sessions
  • Supporting award recommendations and approvals
  • Assisting with contract mobilisation and handover

About You

We are looking for experienced procurement professionals who can quickly establish credibility and build strong working relationships with stakeholders. You should have:

  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end procurement projects
  • Strong knowledge of UK public sector procurement regulations and best practice
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Experience developing procurement strategies
  • Experience working with technical and operational teams
  • Experience using eTendering platforms such as Delta or Mercell
  • Strong communication, facilitation and project management skills
