Lynx Employment Services are recruiting experienced Vegetation Operatives to support a major bridge maintenance project based in Aust, Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile infrastructure project carrying out vegetation management and environmental maintenance works across one of the UK's most important bridge networks.
The Role
As a Vegetation Operative, you will be responsible for maintaining safe access routes and controlling vegetation around the bridge infrastructure. Working as part of a dedicated maintenance team, you will help ensure the site remains safe, accessible and compliant with environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vegetation clearance using strimmers, brush cutters and blowers.
- Maintain access routes, embankments and surrounding areas.
- Remove overgrown vegetation and invasive plant species.
- Operate handheld grounds maintenance equipment safely.
- Carry out daily equipment checks and report any defects.
- Follow environmental and health & safety procedures at all times.
- Work effectively as part of the bridge maintenance team.
Essential Requirements
- Valid CSCS Card.
- National Highways Passport.
- Strimmer certificate.
- Brush Cutter certificate.
- Blower certificate.
- Previous experience in vegetation management, grounds maintenance, highways or environmental services.
- Ability to travel to Aust, Bristol (within approximately 1.5 hours).
- A strong commitment to safe working practices.
