Lynx Employment Services are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced People Partner to join a busy HR team supporting managers across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys providing practical employee relations advice and influencing positive workplace outcomes. The role will primarily focus on employee relations casework, particularly disciplinary matters, alongside reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers on a range of employee relations matters.
- Manage disciplinary, grievance, capability and attendance cases.
- Ensure advice is compliant with employment legislation, HR policy and best practice.
- Review, update and develop HR policies and procedures.
- Build positive working relationships with managers and Trade Union representatives.
- Support managers in making sound people management decisions.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives across the HR service.
- Analyse HR data and identify areas for service improvement.
- Support the wider People team with general HR activities as required.
Essential Requirements
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (minimum)
- Proven experience providing HR advice within a generalist or HR Business Partner/People Partner role.
- Strong experience managing disciplinary, grievance and other employee relations cases.
- Experience reviewing and updating HR policies.
- Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
Desirable
- Previous Local Government HR experience.
- Knowledge of NJC Terms & Conditions and the Local Government Pension Scheme.
- Experience working alongside Trade Unions.
- Experience of job evaluation processes and DBS procedures.
