Working alongside the Programme Manager, you will help maintain accurate project information, coordinate programme governance and produce clear, reliable reporting across a portfolio worth approximately £20 million. We are particularly interested in candidates who combine strong project support skills with confidence, initiative and excellent relationship-building abilities. ### Key Responsibilities Coordinate programme information across multiple highways capital projects. Collect, validate and update information from project managers, engineers and operational teams. Prepare management reports, programme updates, board packs and briefing documents. Maintain risk registers, issue logs, action trackers, change controls and project documentation. Monitor programme milestones, approved budgets, expenditure and project progress. Manage the Highways Project Request inbox, coordinating enquiries and responses. Maintain accurate records, document control and version management using SharePoint. Liaise with operational teams, contractors, councillors and senior stakeholders to obtain timely information. Support annual programme planning, governance and reporting cycles. Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, including potential use of Power BI. ### Essential Requirements Previous experience as a Programme Support Officer, Project Support Officer, PMO Officer, PMO Analyst, Project Coordinator or similar. Strong practical knowledge of project governance, reporting and programme controls. Experience maintaining project documentation, risk registers, action logs and progress trackers. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data management and analysis. Confident use of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and the wider Microsoft Office suite. Experience preparing management information, progress reports and stakeholder briefings. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels. ### Desirable Experience Previous local authority or wider public-sector experience. Experience supporting capital investment programmes. Highways, infrastructure, construction or engineering sector exposure. Experience within a Programme Management Office (PMO). Knowledge of Power BI or other reporting and visualisation tools. ### The Person We're Looking For Technical skills matter, but so does your approach to people. The successful candidate will be proactive, personable and confident gathering information from busy teams. You will know how to build relationships, follow up outstanding actions and challenge constructively when deadlines are approaching. You'll be comfortable communicating with everyone from operational colleagues and engineers to senior managers and directors, bringing a positive, pragmatic approach to a busy working environment. ### Apply Today If you're an experienced project or programme support professional looking for a varied local authority assignment, we'd welcome your application.
