We are currently recruiting for an experienced LGV Waste Collection Driver (Category C) to join a busy waste services team. This is a hands-on role working as part of a crew to ensure efficient and safe collection services across the local area.
The Role
You will be responsible for driving and operating waste collection vehicles while supervising and supporting the crew to complete daily routes safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate LGV (Category C) waste collection vehicles
- Lead and supervise a small team on daily collection routes
- Ensure all collections are completed in line with schedules
- Operate lifting mechanisms and associated equipment
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance
- Maintain high standards of health & safety at all times
- Provide a professional and courteous service to the public
- Record and report any issues or service concerns
Requirements
- Valid UK Category C (Class 2) driving licence
- Valid CPC qualification
- Previous experience in waste collection or similar environment
- Strong understanding of health & safety procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good communication and team leadership skills
This is a physically demanding role and would suit someone reliable, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
