Leasehold Officer
to join a busy Housing Services team in Brentwood. This is a hands-on leasehold management role requiring a
good working knowledge of Section 20 consultation and residential leases . You will manage a varied caseload covering service charges, major works, leasehold enquiries, arrears and other leasehold matters. The Council's full job description confirms responsibility for leaseholder service charges, major works, shared ownership, Right to Buy and other leasehold income, including preparation of annual estimated and actual service charge accounts. ### Key Responsibilities Undertake
Section 20 consultation , issuing notices and supporting information within legislative timescales Read and interpret leases and deal with applications requiring permission under the lease Liaise with repairs teams regarding
major works projects Prepare and administer estimated and actual
leaseholder service charges Monitor service charge and shared ownership accounts Support the recovery of
service charge and major works arrears Negotiate repayment arrangements and refer appropriate cases for legal recovery Deal with leaseholder enquiries and maintain accurate case records Process
Right to Buy
applications and liaise with legal services Maintain accounting and control records and produce income collection reports Liaise with leaseholders, colleagues and external organisations The full JD specifically includes Section 20 consultation, major works, lease permissions, Right to Buy and arrears recovery. ### About You You should have: Previous experience working in Leasehold Services
Good working knowledge of
Section 20
Ability to read and understand residential leases Understanding of
lease extensions
Strong customer service and case-management skills Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Full UK driving licence
Experience of
service charge arrears recovery, major works arrears and preparing actual and estimated service charges
would be particularly desirable.
