We are recruiting for an experienced Board & Governance Officer to join a professional governance team supporting the effective operation of a well-established organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with governance, company secretarial or board support experience who enjoys working with senior leaders and ensuring high standards of corporate governance and statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality administrative and governance support to the Board, Committees and senior leadership team.
- Organise Board, Committee, AGM and EGM meetings, including agendas, papers, minutes and follow-up actions.
- Maintain governance records, forward plans, membership registers and declarations of interest.
- Support statutory compliance, including Companies House filings and statutory registers.
- Ensure governance activities comply with legislation, regulatory requirements and best practice.
- Coordinate information flow between Board members, senior officers and stakeholders.
- Assist with governance improvement projects and business continuity planning.
- Provide general governance and administrative support across the organisation.
About You
- Previous experience in a governance, company secretarial, board support or committee administration role.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience preparing agendas, taking minutes and maintaining accurate governance records.
- Good knowledge of corporate governance principles and statutory compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- The ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
