We are recruiting an enthusiastic and compassionate Personal Advisor to join the Next Steps Service on a temporary basis. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work both from home and from offices in the WF1 area. As a Personal Advisor, you'll support young people who are preparing to leave care or have already transitioned out of the care system. You will be responsible for holding a caseload, creating and reviewing Pathway Plans, and offering practical support around housing, budgeting, education, and employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct work with young people (non-complex or post-18)
  • Develop, review, and implement Pathway Plans and Risk Assessments
  • Help secure and maintain appropriate accommodation
  • Provide practical advice on budgeting, benefits, and life skills
  • Liaise with local services, housing providers, and health professionals
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Experience supporting vulnerable young people
  • Knowledge of the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work flexibly including evenings and weekends when needed
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (unless exempt under the Equality Act)
