Lynx Employment Services are recruiting for a Site Stores Assistant to join a busy operational team at a modern industrial facility in North Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with stores, warehouse or inventory experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where organisation, accuracy and teamwork are essential. You'll play a key role in ensuring engineering and operational teams have the parts, tools and materials they need to keep the site operating safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, check and book in deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Inspect deliveries for accuracy, quality and damage, reporting any discrepancies.
  • Store materials, spare parts and equipment safely with correct labelling and stock locations.
  • Issue tools, consumables and spare parts to engineering and operational teams.
  • Maintain accurate stock records using inventory management systems.
  • Carry out regular stock checks and assist with stocktakes.
  • Monitor stock levels and identify replenishment requirements.
  • Prepare materials for planned maintenance activities and site shutdowns.
  • Safely handle and store hazardous materials in line with COSHH regulations and site procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and compliant stores environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the stores function.

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, dependable and takes pride in maintaining high standards. You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or inventory role.
  • Experience within an engineering, manufacturing, industrial or maintenance environment.
  • Experience using stock control or inventory management systems.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths.

Desirable Skills

  • Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical components.
  • Experience working within a regulated industrial environment.
