The Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Business Support Officer to provide operational and administrative support to two busy teams within Adult Social Care – Occupational Therapy and Assistive Technology. This is a varied senior administration role combining team supervision, business support, data and reporting, finance administration and service improvement. You will work closely with clinical leads, management and other departments, helping to ensure services run efficiently and that administrative processes, information systems and records are maintained to a high standard. The formal job description confirms responsibility for supporting Adult Social Care business processes, financial systems, data recording and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee workloads and provide day-to-day support and guidance to administrative staff.
- Work closely with clinical leads and managers on operational priorities.
- Manage busy public-facing inboxes and respond professionally to enquiries.
- Support recruitment, induction, sickness monitoring and administrative audits.
- Arrange meetings, training sessions and interpreters as required.
- Support file searches and Subject Access Requests.
- Produce reports, statistics and performance information.
- Monitor data and KPIs using Excel and internal systems.
- Assist with financial administration, budget monitoring and the Disability Facilities Grant process.
- Maintain accurate records and data management systems.
- Create and review processes and workflows to improve service efficiency.
- Support digital improvement initiatives.
- Produce service communications, including a quarterly newsletter.
- Attend joint clinical home visits when required.
The position also has responsibility for reviewing business processes, supporting IT improvements and monitoring budgets and organisational targets.
About You
We are looking for someone who is approachable, adaptable and organised, but also confident enough to supervise and support a busy administrative team. You should have:
- Previous experience working in a busy administrative environment.
- Supervisory or senior administration experience.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Experience using databases, record-management and financial systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to organise and allocate workloads effectively.
- Experience producing reports, correspondence or meeting minutes.
- Confidence dealing with both professionals and members of the public.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- A full driving licence and ability to travel to different locations.
Previous supervisory experience, strong IT skills and the ability to plan and allocate work effectively are specifically required within the person specification.
Hybrid Working
Initial training will be completed onsite in Kettering. Once trained, hybrid working will be available, with office attendance required according to service needs.
