Location: Remote, with travel to sites across Shropshire (including Shrewsbury and Oswestry) and attendance at Planning Committees as required.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Town Planner to lead on a varied caseload of large, complex and major planning applications while supporting the Area Planning Manager and providing leadership to Planning Officers.
You will present applications to Planning Committee, provide specialist planning advice, oversee complex planning matters and help deliver an efficient and customer-focused planning service across one of England's largest rural authorities. ## Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of large, complex and major planning applications.
Assess planning applications and prepare detailed reports and recommendations.
Present planning applications to Planning Committee.
Provide specialist planning advice to Members, applicants and stakeholders.
Support and deputise for the Area Planning Manager when required.
Provide line management and performance support to Planning Officers.
Work closely with consultees, developers and internal departments to deliver high-quality planning decisions.
Contribute to the Local Development Plan and promote sustainable development across the county. ## Essential Requirements Applicants must have: MRTPI membership.
Degree and postgraduate qualification (or equivalent) in Town Planning or a related discipline.
Significant post-qualification planning experience.
Extensive experience dealing with complex and major planning applications.
Experience presenting planning applications to Planning Committee.
Experience working within a complex rural planning authority, particularly one operating without a five-year housing land supply.
Strong knowledge of planning legislation, development management and local authority planning procedures.
Previous experience supervising or mentoring planning staff.
Excellent report writing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. ## What's on Offer £39.71 per hour PAYE.
