Contract: Full-time, 3 months

Rate: £17.30 - £25.00 per hour (DOE)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced NRSWA Inspector to monitor and inspect street works, ensuring compliance with NRSWA legislation and permit schemes. You will help maintain a safe and efficient highway network by overseeing utility and contractor activities.

Key Duties

  • Carry out Category A, B & C inspections of street works
  • Monitor utility works and ensure compliance with NRSWA and SROH standards
  • Identify and report defects; agree remedial actions with utilities
  • Ensure site safety compliance (Chapter 8 & Red Book) and shut down unsafe works
  • Verify NRSWA accreditation of site operatives
  • Record inspections using handheld devices
  • Liaise with contractors, utilities, and the public
  • Support coordination of street works and respond to queries/complaints

Requirements

  • NRSWA Accreditation (Supervisor level)
  • Knowledge of NRSWA, TMA, Highways Act, and Street Manager
  • Experience in highways/street works inspections or similar role
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • IT literate
  • Full clean UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Highways Inspector accreditation
  • CSCS card
  • Utilities/highways experience
