Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced NRSWA Inspector to monitor and inspect street works, ensuring compliance with NRSWA legislation and permit schemes. You will help maintain a safe and efficient highway network by overseeing utility and contractor activities.
Key Duties
- Carry out Category A, B & C inspections of street works
- Monitor utility works and ensure compliance with NRSWA and SROH standards
- Identify and report defects; agree remedial actions with utilities
- Ensure site safety compliance (Chapter 8 & Red Book) and shut down unsafe works
- Verify NRSWA accreditation of site operatives
- Record inspections using handheld devices
- Liaise with contractors, utilities, and the public
- Support coordination of street works and respond to queries/complaints
Requirements
- NRSWA Accreditation (Supervisor level)
- Knowledge of NRSWA, TMA, Highways Act, and Street Manager
- Experience in highways/street works inspections or similar role
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- IT literate
- Full clean UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Highways Inspector accreditation
- CSCS card
- Utilities/highways experience
