We are recruiting on behalf of our client in the Sandwell area for an Industrial Driver to deliver Meals on Wheels Service.
Hours per week: 15 & 8 hours per week (2 X vacancies).
You will need to have an Enhanced DBS for Adults Barred on the Update Service. You will also need to have a Cat B on your driving licence.
- Vacancy 1: 15 hours per week, 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, from 10:00am to 2:00pm
- Vacancy 2: 8 hours per week, Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00am to 2:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Meal Delivery: Safely transport and deliver hot meals to clients’ homes, ensuring punctuality and care with every drop-off.
- Client Interaction: Provide a friendly, respectful presence at each visit, offering brief conversation and emotional warmth to those who may be isolated.
- Wellbeing Monitoring: Observe and report any concerns about a client’s health, safety, or environment to the appropriate team members.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of deliveries and any notable interactions or incidents.
- Vehicle Care: Ensure your vehicle is clean, roadworthy, and suitable for transporting food safely.
- Food Safety Compliance: Follow all hygiene and food handling protocols to maintain the quality and safety of meals during transit.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with coordinators and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
Previous experience in a similar role is helpful but not essential — full training will be provided. What matters most is your attitude, empathy, and commitment to making a meaningful impact.
