We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled Highways Operative to join the team working on projects across Norwich and Norfolk. Based out of our client's depot in Norwich, this role is commutable from a wide range of nearby towns and villages.
Hours: 45 per week (07:00-16:30, subject to seasonal change)
Contract: Full-time
Overtime: Required for out-of-hours emergency call-outs
You will work as part of a crew delivering key highway works including kerbing, paving, drainage, and patching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver highways maintenance and construction works to a high standard
- Operate plant and equipment safely; perform daily checks
- Follow safety procedures and report observations using internal systems
- Store tools and equipment securely at the end of shifts
- Contribute to meeting work targets and KPIs
- Suggest more efficient methods of working when possible
- Maintain and update personal training records with line manager
Requirements:
- Essential: NRSWA Card (Streetworks)
- Experience in highways or construction
- Full UK manual driving licence (max 6 points)
- Willingness to work overtime and respond to emergency call-outs
