Lynx Employment Services are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Gardener / Horticulturist to help maintain and improve parks, green spaces and the public realm across Calderdale. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical horticultural experience who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in delivering high-quality grounds maintenance.
The RoleYou will carry out a wide range of gardening and horticultural duties, including:
- Grass cutting using pedestrian mowers
- Hedge trimming and strimming
- Hard and soft landscaping
- Fine turf maintenance
- Ornamental horticulture
- Tree maintenance
- General grounds maintenance
- Safe use, cleaning and maintenance of horticultural machinery
- Maintaining clean and safe working areas
- Completing vehicle checks, timesheets and other job-related paperwork
- Providing excellent customer service while representing the organisation in the community
- Full UK Driving Licence (Category B)
- NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture (or equivalent)
- Experience working in grounds maintenance, horticulture or landscaping
- Good knowledge of horticultural machinery and equipment
- Understanding of Health & Safety procedures
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
Applicants must hold the following Lantra (or equivalent) certificates, all completed within the last 3 years:
- Safe Use of Pedestrian Mower
- Safe Use of Hedge Trimmer
- Safe Use of Strimmer / Brushcutter
