Highway Maintenance Operatives in Glasgow

Location: Glasgow, G5 Pay: £15.50 per hour, flat rate Contract: Mid-November to the end of February, with the potential to become permanent We are recruiting five Highway Maintenance Operatives to support highway and winter maintenance operations in Glasgow. If you hold an HGV licence and have experience in highways, civils or traffic management, we would like to hear from you. Working hours Monday to Thursday: 07:30–16:00 Friday: 07:30–15:30 Optional night shifts: Monday to Friday, 20:30–06:30 Standby rota: 1 in 3, with a stated standby payment of £154.72 per standby week The role You will help keep roads safe and maintained through a range of activities, including: Routine highway maintenance and minor civils works Winter maintenance operations, litter picking and emergency call-outs Driving and operating vehicles and plant Vehicle checks, basic routine maintenance and cleaning Completing defect reports, drivers’ hours records, timesheets and other required paperwork Working safely alongside colleagues, subcontractors and members of the public What you will need An HGV licence Relevant highways, civils and/or traffic management experience A strong commitment to health and safety Flexibility to participate in the standby rota and emergency call-outs Successful completion of a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test To apply, please send your CV outlining your relevant experience and the licences or tickets you hold
