Our client is looking to recruit for a Class 2 (Category C) Driver to support commercial waste collection services across Telford.

Start time: between 04:00am and 06:00am daily

Working Hours: likely to be 8 - 9.5 hours per day with time and a half payable after 8 hours per day

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating a refuse collection vehicle to empty commercial bins on pre-planned routes, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery
  • Safely operate a Class 2 refuse vehicle on designated routes
  • Collect and empty commercial waste bins (e.g. euro bins, trade waste containers)
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
  • Ensure all collections are completed in line with schedules and service levels
  • Adhere to all health & safety, environmental, and driving regulations
  • Provide a professional and courteous service when interacting with customers
  • Complete relevant paperwork or digital logs as required

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Essential:
  • Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Driver CPC qualification
  • Digital tachograph card
  • Previous experience driving HGV vehicles (ideally in a multi-drop or route-based role)
  • Good understanding of UK driving laws, tachograph regulations, and working time directives
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling (regular getting in/out of vehicle)
  • Strong awareness of health & safety practices
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work early starts
  • Desirable (but not essential):
  • Previous experience in waste management / refuse collection
  • Experience working in a driver + loader team environment
  • Knowledge of commercial waste operations
  • Customer-facing experience
  • Experience using in-cab technology / route optimisation systems
