Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm

Lynx Employment Services are recruiting for a Manual Sweeper to support environmental and street cleansing services in Dewsbury. This is a physically active outdoor role where you will be responsible for maintaining clean and safe public spaces. Working independently and occasionally as part of a team, you will help ensure streets, footpaths and public areas are kept to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out street sweeping, litter picking and general cleansing duties.
  • Remove weeds, vegetation and debris from public areas.
  • Empty litter bins and report damaged or overflowing bins.
  • Clear fly-tipped waste and report issues requiring further action.
  • Transport collected waste to designated collection points.
  • Complete basic records, timesheets and incident reports.
  • Follow planned work schedules and respond to ad-hoc cleansing requirements.
  • Operate equipment safely and follow health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Assist with snow clearing and gritting duties when required.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach when interacting with members of the public.
Requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Physically fit and able to undertake manual duties involving walking, lifting, bending and carrying.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to complete records accurately and use basic IT systems.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Flexible approach to work and willingness to undertake training as required.
