Help turn waste into renewable energy. We are looking for an Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Operator to join our Operations team. This is a hands-on role responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our Anaerobic Digestion plant, where organic waste is converted into renewable energy. You'll be involved in plant operations, machinery operation, routine maintenance, inspections and process optimisation, helping maximise biogas production while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Safely operate the AD plant during normal operations, start-up, shutdown and emergency situations.
- Monitor plant performance, carry out inspections and record operational data.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental Permit and company procedures.
- Carry out first-line maintenance and assist with repairs and planned maintenance.
- Load fermenters with organic feedstock and manage Compost Like Output (CLO).
- Operate site machinery, including a forklift and loading shovel.
- Help maximise biogas production and electricity generation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and support a positive team environment.
About you
You’ll have: Experience working with SCADA systems or within an Anaerobic Digestion environment (essential). Practical operational and/or maintenance experience. A strong understanding of Health & Safety practices (IOSH Managing Safely desirable). Valid Loading Shovel, 360 Excavator and Telehandler tickets (required). A counterbalance forklift licence (desirable). Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A proactive, reliable approach and the ability to work independently.
