Our client is looking for a Senior Health & Safety Advisor for a 3 month contract based in Coventry that can travel efficiently to sites across Coventry as required. Providing professional health and safety advice and guidance across a large and diverse Local Authority. 37 hours per week hybrid working (1-2 days on-site plus 1 office day per week for team meeting).

About the role:

  • Supporting managers with risk assessments, audits, inspections and accident investigations.
  • Reviewing and developing health and safety policies, procedures and management systems.
  • Delivering health and safety training, information and guidance to managers and employees.
  • Monitoring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and best practice.
  • Supporting contractor management, CDM compliance and corporate health and safety initiatives.
  • Producing reports, analysing incident trends and recommending preventative actions.
  • Working closely with senior managers, Trade Unions, external agencies and enforcement bodies where required.

Role Requirements:

  • Full clean driving licence
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (essential)
  • IOSH Membership (CMIOSH, GradIOSH or working towards Chartered status).
  • Health and safety auditing, inspections, investigations and risk assessments.
  • Interpreting and applying health and safety legislation within complex organisations.
  • Developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Delivering health and safety training and guidance to a range of stakeholders.
  • CDM Regulations, contractor management and compliance monitoring.
