We are currently recruiting for experienced Council Tax Billing Officers to support a busy Revenues and Benefits team on an initial 3-month contract. This is a predominantly remote working role, with only one day required onsite initially in Northampton for equipment collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing Council Tax billing accurately and in line with current legislation
- Managing Council Tax accounts and maximising collection rates
- Handling discounts, exemptions, reductions, and payment arrangements
- Providing excellent customer service via telephone, email, and written correspondence
- Liaising with internal departments and external agencies as required
- Managing workloads effectively to meet targets and deadlines
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Council Tax legislation and procedures
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience within Council Tax Billing is essential
- Experience using MRI / Academy systems is essential
- Strong knowledge of Council Tax legislation and billing processes
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently within a high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
