We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the delivery and performance of highways maintenance contracts. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional with strong NEC contract management experience to lead service delivery, drive continuous improvement and ensure contracts deliver excellent value for money.
Key Responsibilities- Act as NEC Service Manager for highways maintenance contracts.
- Manage contractor performance, ensuring contractual obligations, KPIs and service standards are achieved.
- Oversee contract compliance, audits, governance, payment mechanisms and reporting.
- Lead contract variations, claims and dispute resolution where required.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance service delivery.
- Support procurement activities and future contract strategies.
- Develop and maintain effective contract management processes and compliance systems.
- Lead and motivate the Contract Management team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with contractors, consultants, operational teams and senior stakeholders.
- Prepare reports and provide expert contractual advice to senior management.
You will have:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, with a relevant professional qualification.
- Significant experience managing NEC contracts within highways, infrastructure, engineering or a similar environment.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong commercial and financial management skills.
- Experience monitoring contractor performance and ensuring contract compliance.
- Excellent knowledge of contract administration, contract variations and dispute resolution.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality services, value for money and continuous improvement.
