Lynx Employment Services are recruiting on behalf of a public sector client for a Waste Development Officer to join a busy Waste Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for environmental services, sustainability and public engagement who is looking to develop a career within waste management. The role offers exposure to a wide range of waste management activities and the opportunity to work with contractors, local authorities, community groups, schools and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor waste service performance through data analysis, site visits and issue resolution.
- Assist with waste management projects, service improvements and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with contractors, local authority partners and internal teams.
- Support procurement activities and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Attend community events, schools and operational sites across the county as required.
- Contribute to the delivery of high-quality, efficient waste services.
Knowledge of environmental, recycling or waste management issues.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Good analytical skills with the ability to work with data and digital systems.
Ability to travel independently across the county, including to remote and operational sites.
Full UK driving licence.
Experience within waste management, environmental services or a related sector is advantageous but not essential.
