Our client is looking for experienced cleaning operatives to work across a number of sites across the city. Successful candidates will be informed of their working duties and hours one week in advance, but some flexibility is required to cover for absence at short notice.

Contracted hours: 37hrs per week, working 5 days out of 7 as per service demands. Whilst the working times have been set between 7am and 3pm, operatives may need to be part of a rota working 11.30 - 19.00.

Job Role: To be responsible for the operational delivery of cleaning services in a range of buildings across the city. Ensure compliance with health and safety and other processes, procedures and standards and liaise with customers and supervisors as appropriate.

Service Requirements:

  • To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the area/sites allocated.
  • To be aware of the conditions associated with the cleaning of the allocated areas related to the site users and to work to the appropriate Health and Safety rules, regulations, processes and procedures.
  • To use the appropriate equipment, materials, tools and machinery to ensure the job is done effectively in line with safe systems of work, risk assessments and manufacturers guidance.
  • Cleaning duties will include cleaning, washing, sweeping, scrubbing, sanitising, shampooing, vacuum cleaning, polishing and dusting of designated areas as required by the site or service.
  • Specialist and/or deep cleaning where required, i.e. carpet shampooing, buffing, scrubbing, polishing, internal external glazing etc.
  • To report any damage/defects standard failures via the designated reporting procedure and/or to the Supervisor or other designated officer.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, storage and disposal methods.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic health and safety knowledge in a cleaning environment.
  • Demonstrate an ability to use initiative and work with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to working hours and locations.
  • Happy to cover different buildings as part of a team.
