We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver / Loader to join a busy waste and recycling team in Brentwood. This is an ongoing temporary position offering regular Monday-to-Friday work and daytime hours.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Driving an HGV Class 2 refuse collection vehicle on scheduled routes.
- Collecting household waste and recycling across the local area.
- Assisting with loading refuse and recycling when required.
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
- Working safely and efficiently as part of a refuse collection crew.
- Following allocated routes and completing collections within scheduled times.
- Providing a professional service when dealing with members of the public.
Requirements
You will need:
- A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
- Valid Driver CPC.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous HGV driving experience.
- A good understanding of driver and road safety requirements.
- To be comfortable undertaking a physically active role, including loading duties.
- A reliable and flexible approach to work.
- Previous refuse, recycling or waste collection experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
