HGV Technician Temp - Perm £47K
Location: Trafford Manchester, M23
Hours: 40 hours per week
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician to join our clients busy Trafford depot on a 3 month temp to perm basis. Working in a modern, well-equipped 6-bay workshop, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing a fleet of 150 waste vehicles that support essential environmental services across the community.
The Role
- Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify faults and carry out effective repairs
- Dismantle, overhaul and repair vehicle components
- Maintain HGVs and plant equipment to ensure operational efficiency
- Complete job cards, inspections and documentation via tablets and PDAs
- Carry out road tests and assist with roadside breakdowns
- Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures
- Undertake ad-hoc driving duties (e.g. MOT appointments)
About You
- City & Guilds, IRTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Municipal or waste fleet experience desirable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Specialist tools and diagnostic equipment are provided.
