On behalf of our client, we are recruiting for a Mobile School Crossing Patrol. This is to ensure the safety of children crossing the road at a designated point between specified times. This is a term time only role, working 7.5 hours per week on call, 45 minutes in the morning and the same in the afternoon. You will need to have use of a vehicle and an enhanced DBS for children on the Update Service.
Role Responsibilities:
- Patrols need to be sensitive to traffic conditions, allowing appropriate stopping time, and not stopping traffic more often than necessary.
- Maintain control over children who are awaiting your instructions to cross.
- Keep the Stop Sign inverted when not wishing to cross but show the sign clearly to approaching traffic before stepping into the road.
- Take up the correct position in the road.
- Use all equipment provided for the safety of yourself, children, and all members of the public; especially when stopping traffic in the road.
- Ensure that any incidents occurring on site are reported to the School Crossing Patrol manager/Supervisor as soon as possible.
