The Role

We are recruiting on behalf of our client in Sheffield for an experienced Advanced Practitioner to manage a caseload of highly complex children's social care cases, including child protection, looked after children, and carer assessments. You will lead on high-risk cases, support less experienced Social Workers, and act as a Practice Teacher for students on placement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex and high-risk cases, taking sole responsibility where appropriate
  • Complete assessments, investigations, and care planning in line with legislation
  • Prepare reports for court, case conferences, and statutory panels
  • Chair reviews and practice meetings when required
  • Co-work cases to support and develop less experienced Social Workers
  • Maintain accurate electronic case records
  • Work autonomously while reporting progress to senior management

Requirements

  • Social Work qualification and current Social Work England / HCPC registration
  • Significant post-qualifying experience in children's social care
  • Strong assessment, court, and report-writing skills
  • Ability to manage complex, high-risk cases confidently
