The Role
We are recruiting on behalf of our client in Sheffield for an experienced Advanced Practitioner to manage a caseload of highly complex children's social care cases, including child protection, looked after children, and carer assessments. You will lead on high-risk cases, support less experienced Social Workers, and act as a Practice Teacher for students on placement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex and high-risk cases, taking sole responsibility where appropriate
- Complete assessments, investigations, and care planning in line with legislation
- Prepare reports for court, case conferences, and statutory panels
- Chair reviews and practice meetings when required
- Co-work cases to support and develop less experienced Social Workers
- Maintain accurate electronic case records
- Work autonomously while reporting progress to senior management
Requirements
- Social Work qualification and current Social Work England / HCPC registration
- Significant post-qualifying experience in children's social care
- Strong assessment, court, and report-writing skills
- Ability to manage complex, high-risk cases confidently
