Hybrid – 2 days working from home 37 hours per week Contract \| Inside IR35 Lynx Employment Services is recruiting an experienced Housing Enforcement Lead to provide specialist and operational leadership across Private Sector Housing and Renters’ Rights. This is a senior role requiring strong technical housing enforcement knowledge combined with the ability to lead officers, oversee complex cases and maintain high standards across the service. Key responsibilities include: Leading day-to-day housing enforcement activity Acting as the functional lead for Private Sector Housing and Renters’ Rights Managing complex and contentious enforcement cases Providing expertise across HHSRS, HMO licensing, housing-related fire safety, asylum accommodation and public health in housing Supporting the implementation and enforcement of Renters’ Rights requirements Coaching, mentoring and developing officers Monitoring performance, standards and compliance Developing procedures, guidance and improved ways of working Supporting complaints, appeals and enforcement proceedings Preparing reports, witness statements and evidence where required Supporting wider housing priorities including homelessness, temporary accommodation, supported accommodation and affordable housing About you You will ideally have: Extensive experience within Private Sector Housing / Housing Enforcement Strong working knowledge of relevant housing legislation Experience managing complex enforcement cases Operational or team leadership experience The confidence to challenge, coach and support experienced officers Environmental Health, Housing or equivalent specialist professional experience Full driving licence An HHSRS certificate is desirable, along with CIEH, CIH or equivalent professional membership. This could suit an experienced Housing Enforcement Team Leader, Private Sector Housing Team Leader, Principal Housing Standards Officer, Senior Environmental Health Officer (Housing) or Private Sector Housing Manager.
