Joiner Location: Barnsley Rate: £15.85 per hour PAYE Hours: 40 hours per week Contract: Temporary / Contract Van: Company van provided The Role Lynx Employment Services are recruiting for an experienced Joiner to join a dedicated Damp & Mould Resolution Team working across social housing properties in Barnsley. You will carry out joinery repairs and remedial works in tenants' homes, helping to resolve issues and return properties to a safe and well-maintained condition. The role involves travelling between properties, working alongside other trades and dealing directly with residents, so a professional and reliable approach is essential. Key Responsibilities Carry out general joinery repairs and remedial works. Repair or replace doors, frames, skirting, architraves, flooring and other timberwork. Complete works associated with damp and mould remediation. Assess defects and carry out appropriate repairs. Work safely and efficiently within occupied and vacant properties. Liaise professionally with tenants and other members of the repairs team. Keep work areas clean and tidy. Complete job records and update work orders as required. Requirements Proven experience as a Joiner, ideally within property maintenance or social housing. Good knowledge of general joinery repairs and maintenance. Experience working in occupied properties. Relevant joinery qualification or equivalent practical experience. Full UK driving licence – essential. Basic DBS – essential. DBS Update Service membership preferred. Good communication and customer service skills. Reliable, organised and able to work independently. Own hand tools suitable for general joinery work.
