THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client, a Tier 1 Product Safety & Product Liability practice based in London, is seeking an experienced qualified lawyer to join their dynamic and highly regarded disputes team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work at the forefront of complex, high-profile product liability claims, group actions, and regulatory/safety advice, including coordinating product recalls across multiple sectors.
Youll partner with high-profile clients in industries including life sciences, automotive, retail & consumer, and advanced manufacturing. The role offers exposure to technically challenging matters and the chance to make a real impact in a practice that is widely recognised as a leader in this field.
THE TEAM
Our clients disputes group is organised into four practice areas: Commercial Disputes, Finance Disputes, Global Investigations, and Employment & Immigration.
The Product Safety & Product Liability team sits within Commercial Disputes and offers unrivalled expertise in:

Safety risk assessments, pre-launch audits, and regulatory compliance

Product recalls and crisis management
-
Product liability claims under the Consumer Protection Act 1987 and in negligence

Group litigation, regulatory investigations, and criminal prosecutions
With a Tier 1 ranking, the team is well-known for its involvement in landmark group actions and complex disputes for leading manufacturers and retailers.

Defending claims in major group actions, including Diesel Emissions litigation and other high-profile product liability cases

Managing large-scale compensation schemes, including those linked to the Post Office Horizon Scandal

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Advise on product safety and liability matters, including complex claims and high-profile group actions

Manage product recalls and compliance strategies across multiple jurisdictions

Handle high-value, multi-jurisdictional disputes across diverse industries

Contribute to business development and internal knowledge initiatives

Deliver pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice

Mentor and supervise junior team members (depending on seniority)
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

At least 3 years PQE in product liability and product safety/regulatory work, including coordinating product recalls

Strong understanding of UK and EU legal frameworks and recent regulatory developments

Proven experience managing client relationships
