Permanent position based in Tyne & Wear with a salary of up to £36,300, offering 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, the option to buy and sell holidays, and additional benefits.
We are delighted to partner again with our client, a fast-growing North East based business. The HR team is fantastic and it has a vibrant culture. Reporting to the Group HR Manager, the role of HR Officer covers HR and some recruitment activity.
What’s involved:
- Provide practical advice and guidance to managers and employees in relation to policies and procedures.
- Support managers with formal and informal proceedings including investigations, disciplinaries, absence review, grievance hearings, and capability including occupational health.
- Carrying out and reviewing exit interviews, feeding back to Department Heads.
- Supporting with HR Policy Development.
- Employee Engagement, helping develop strategies to improve employee satisfaction and engagement.
- Retention strategies - working with the HR Manager and team developing and implementing strategies to retain key employees.
- Support with the management and smooth running of the recruitment function, forecasting future needs.
- At peak times, be actively involved in sourcing candidates using a variety of methods with a focus on social media, online job boards, and active candidate sourcing, using LinkedIn and via recruitment agencies and the negotiation of terms of business.
- Support Department Heads and Managers with the interview process.
- Tracking the activity of vacancies for reporting purposes.
- Work with the Marketing Department on all aspects of social media recruitment.
- Carry out group inductions when required to support the onboarding process.
Experience needed:
- CIPD Qualified minimum Level 5, working towards or equivalent experience.
- Experience of Recruitment and Onboarding.
- Experience of policy and procedural advice in relation to formal and informal proceedings, investigations, disciplinaries, absence management, grievance, capability, and occupational health.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Experience of demonstrating effective team working within a commercial environment.
- Ability to identify where problems may arise and adopt a solutions-focused approach.
- Demonstrate effective communication and good interpersonal skills.
