We are seeking a

Head of HR (UK) to lead and deliver a people strategy that supports business growth, operational excellence and employee engagement across UK operations.

You may be an excellent HR Manager or HR Business Partner with the ability to provide strategic leadership across all aspects of Human Resources, leading a small HR team, while also being hands on operational

It’s essential you have experience from manufacturing, engineering, industrial, FMCG, logistics or operationally focused environments , where building strong relationships from the shop floor to the boardroom is second nature.

As Head of HR, you will develop and implement the UK HR strategy in alignment with the wider European business objectives, ensuring people initiatives drive organisational performance, engagement and future growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the UK HR strategy in line with wider business objectives.
  • Create HR plans and initiatives that enable operational and commercial success.
  • Lead employee and industrial relations strategies, fostering positive relationships with unions (very good relationships are established)
  • Lead negotiations relating to remuneration, terms and conditions of employment.
  • Drive employee engagement through communication strategies, engagement surveys and action planning.
  • Develop leadership capability across the organisation through talent management, succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment and retention strategies to ensure the business attracts and retains top talent.
  • Oversee compensation and benefits programmes, ensuring they remain competitive and aligned to business needs.
  • Provide expert HR guidance and challenge to senior stakeholders, influencing decisions that support business performance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and key point of insight for the UK operation.

  • Proven experience developing and delivering HR strategy within a manufacturing, engineering or operational business.
  • Strong leadership experience, including building engagement and gaining buy-in for change initiatives.
  • A resilient and adaptable approach, with the ability to succeed in changing environments.
  • Experience working with employee representatives, unions and industrial relations frameworks.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align people strategy with commercial objectives.
