LYNK has partnered with a UK-based IT and Cyber Managed Service Provider to recruit a Cyber Essentials Assessor. They have offices in Gateshead and Stirling, and they're looking for someone to join a small but growing cyber team to deliver end-to-end Cyber Essentials and CE+ assessment services to their clients. This is not an advisory role. You'll be working hands-on with clients from initial gap analysis through to certification, conducting both remote and on-site assessments across Scotland and the North of England.
Alongside the client-facing work, you'll also support the internal cyber function of the wider Group, including:
- vulnerability assessments
- evaluating new tooling
- data protection
- monitoring the broader threat landscape
The company is open to funding VA+ or CE+ assessor qualification, as well as other certifications.
What's in it for you?
- Up to 11% employer pension contribution
- Employee Assistance Programme (AXA)
- Life insurance
- 32–33 days holiday including public holidays, plus option to purchase 3 additional days
- VA+ / CE+ certification funded by the business if not already held
- Two salary reviews per year
- Strong promote from within culture. Every manager, besides 1, within the business has been an internal promotion
About you
You'll come from one of the following backgrounds:
- Already working as a CE or CE+ assessor
- GRC or information security background with ISO 27001 or data protection experience
- IT professional, ideally with MSP experience, looking to move into assessments
You'll need to be comfortable managing multiple client relationships at the same time, confident in front of clients, and happy to travel. This role is not suitable for candidates looking for fully remote work or those using it as a stepping stone into penetration testing.
What you'll be doing
- Conduct end-to-end CE and CE+ assessments, remote and on-site
- Take clients from non-compliant to audit-ready
- Identify gaps and provide clear, actionable remediation guidance
- Manage the full assessment lifecycle from scoping through to certification sign-off
- Support the Group's internal cyber function — vulnerability assessments, tooling evaluation, data protection, and threat landscape analysis
- Maintain accurate documentation throughout each project
- Stay current with IASME/NCSC scheme updates and requirements
