Overview
LYNK has partnered with a Cybersecurity services provider to recruit a Crisis Simulation Expert as part of a growing function within the business. The company supports a diverse client base across critical sectors, offering services including 24/7 SOC, Security Assurance, Threat Intelligence, 3rd Party Risk, and Crisis Sims. The role involves end-to-end delivery of crisis simulation services and interaction with C-suite and senior-level executives.
The work can be repetitive, but offers the opportunity to create meaningful Cyber Security content and directly engage with senior stakeholders.
Role Overview
This role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a Crisis Simulation Service — a structured, scenario-based exercise designed to assess and strengthen an organisation2 6s readiness to respond to major cyber incidents. The candidate will collaborate with clients, internal consultants, and third-party partners to design, build, deliver, and report on pre-defined and bespoke crisis simulation exercises. A strong understanding of incident response, business continuity, and crisis management processes, with excellent organisational and communication skills to manage multiple delivery phases, is required.

What we’re Looking For
- Proven experience delivering tabletop exercises, crisis simulations, or incident response exercises
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity incident response, crisis management, and business continuity principles
- Excellent written communication skills for creating scenario documentation and final reports
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements
- Proficiency in using collaboration tools (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and online facilitation platforms
- Confident presenter and facilitator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders during live exercises
- Experience with regulated sectors (e.g. NHS, finance, utilities) is advantageous
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Scoping and Discovery
- Conduct initial discussions with clients to understand organisational structure, security tooling, regulatory landscape, and key concerns
- Review existing Incident Response (IR) and Business Continuity (BCP) documentation
- Define exercise objectives, target audience (technical or managerial), and scope based on available time and maturity
- Capture all key details and inputs to support the creation of the simulation overview
- 2. Define
- Create a high-level flow of the proposed simulation, outlining key stages, injects, and expected decision points
- Produce and document the Custom Simulation Overview Sheet
- Facilitate client review and agreement of the proposed exercise outline
- 3. Soft Creation
- Draft the briefing content, simulation injects, attachments, and overall flow of the simulation
- Conduct internal QA reviews to ensure accuracy, realism, and alignment with the client’s operating environment
- Produce the Custom Crisis Simulation Working Sheet for approval prior to build
- 4. Build
- Configure the simulation within the chosen delivery platform
- Upload inject materials, define flow logic, and conduct internal testing
- Manage the final approval and publishing process, ensuring QA sign-off from the business and the client
- 5. Delivery
- Schedule and deliver the crisis simulation session (in person or virtually)
- Capture attendee details, key observations, and behavioural indicators throughout the session
- Ensure accurate documentation of all session notes and observables in the Crisis Simulation Observation Sheet
- Manage recording and session close-down activities
- 6. Reporting
- Export and analyse results from the simulation platform
- Create and QA the Crisis Simulation Report, including observations, recommendations, and executive summaries
- Coordinate internal and client reviews of the report
- Present findings and recommendations during the client debrief session
Soft Skills
Strong client and stakeholder management abilities; proven crisis management and problem-solving skills in complex environments.
Additional Information
- Must have the right to live and work in the UK
- Valid UK driving licence with access to own transport
- Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites and occasionally across the UK
- Employment is conditional upon passing a DBS national security vetting process
- Understanding of ISO27001, ISO9001, and ISO42001 would be advantageous
