My client based in BT5 require a part-time Healthcare Assistant to provide a high quality venepuncture and sampling service for their patients.

Duties

  • To provide a full and comprehensive venepuncture and sampling service with due regard to procedures governing safe clinical practice, confidentiality, cross infection and health and safety.
  • To be individually responsible for carrying out procedures for the labelling and recording of specimens ensuring accuracy and safe practice according to established protocols.
  • To have full working knowledge of blood collection tubes, forms and record accurate information in the practice system.
  • Measure and record patient observations including BP, pulse, height and weight.
  • To work as part of a multidisciplinary team liaising with medical, nursing, administration and laboratory staff.
  • To communicate effectively with patients.
  • Correct disposal and replacement of sharp bins in line with policies and procedures.

Essential criteria

  • Phlebotomy certificate
  • Preferably at least 2 years experience of working in a similar role.

Hourly rate £15-£15.50 depending on experience

Hours: Tuesday & Thursday 8am – 1pm
