My Client based in the BT28 area of Lisburn requires a Medical Receptionist to join their team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will provide a point of contact for patients; assist in the day-to-day running of the surgery; and act as a point of communication between patients, doctors, and other medical staff. This is a permanent post.
Reception Duties:
- General reception duties - greeting patients in person and on the telephone
- Making and cancelling appointments
- Entries into patient’s computer records as directed
- Liaising with various agencies to provide repeat prescriptions when authorised
- Coordinating patient appointments, hospital letters, etc., with other staff members to ensure procedures are effective
- Diary management
- Maintain a tidy reception desk and public areas
- Updating and maintenance of the practice filing system to include scanning of patient/practice correspondence
- Other admin duties as requested
Essential Criteria:
- Fully computer literate
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Evidence of working in a team and on own initiative
- Receptionist experience of 2 years required
- 5 GCSEs grades A – C including English and Maths
- Flexibility to cover sickness and holidays
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in a medical environment (working within a GP surgery advantageous) although full training will be given
37.5 hours per week – Mon 8.30am - 5.30pm or 9am - 6pm (lunch 1-2pm) + one shorter day per week 8.30am - 2pm (no lunch on shorter day) please note shorter day to be confirmed at interview.
