The role of the Paraplanner Team Lead is to oversee, co-ordinate, motivate and provide support and guidance to their team, whilst working closely with Managers and other Team Leaders to provide a co-ordinated paraplanning service to Advisers in the business. The Paraplanner Team Lead works together with the other Bath based Paraplanner Team Lead to ensure that workflow is managed and delivered. They are the first point of contact for their team and all work from Advisers should feed through the Paraplanner Team Lead including any issues.
Responsibilities
- Day to day people mentoring responsibility for team members supporting their wellbeing, conduct and development, ensuring that an inclusive working culture is fostered throughout the team.
- Actively supporting the company to create and actively manage the financial planning process.
- Assisting advisers with technical research and compile client reports and letters.
- Assisting in both pre and post sales procedures, ensuring applications are compliant, accurate and are processed in a timely manner.
- Liaise with financial product providers.
- Assess and chase outstanding information from clients and third parties.
- Develop the knowledge and performance of their team on aspects of paraplanning.
- Overseeing workflows of their team and ensure every team member documents workflow on internal systems and there is a clear audit trail of work completed.
- Support in the streamlining of processes and ensure employees have the correct training and follow these processes.
- Ensure staff are trained to the right level on computer systems and effectively use each system within their everyday role.
- Keep your knowledge and experience up-to-date and attend training sessions and workshops.
- Manage adviser expectations and the relationships between the advisers and the planning team.
- Supporting with recruitment and selection of staff with the support and guidance of the HR and Diversity Manager.
- Carrying out regular reviews with team members ensuring that performance, holiday and absence are managed.
- Identifying training needs for team members.
- Work with Team Leaders and the Financial Planning Director to improve efficiencies taking into consideration adviser needs.
- Ensure the quality of verbal and written communication from your team to clients adheres to communication and compliance practices.
- Ensure client data is securely held and properly utilised and escalate potential breaches to the Directors.
- Ensure that the paraplanning teams have what they need to operate effectively and deliver on corporate objectives.
Skills
- Experience of working in the financial services industry in a similar role.
- Diploma status is desirable although we will consider individuals who don’t have the diploma but do have experience.
- Relationship building and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and a critical eye.
- Professional and personable communication skills both verbally and written.
- A team player that cares very much about the company’s reputation.
- Represents the company professionally and able to network outside of work to attract new clients to the business.
- Proven skill in using word, excel, email, internet and able to pick up the use of systems.
- Strong numerate, literacy and IT skills.
