Beautiful & historic Lympne Castle has immediate full time, permanent employment openings for Castle staff in the fun & impactful servant role of Castle Night Porter (General Assistant). We are serious about top notch guest experiences, and we are serious about fun.
A reliable method of transport is recommended due to the remote location and shift work. The Castle Night Porter (General Assistant) will be responsible for securing the premises as well as providing exceptional service to guests in the castle and on the castle grounds, predominantly overnight. You will ensure that all guests receive professional, prompt and courteous service and have a pleasant and positive experience. You will ensure the castle is safe, maintained and set up appropriately.
Responsibilities:- Assisting with daily operations of the castle.
- Ensuring castle premises are secure.
- Providing professional support and service to valued guests as needed overnight.
- General maintenance including painting, small repairs.
- Event set-up (including moving furniture).
- Housekeeping.
This is a 7-day/week hospitality operation. As such, weekend and evening and overnight work will be required. Day time shifts will be required at times depending on business demands.
To Be Considered, The Following Criteria Need To Be Met:- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time & to carry furniture.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in history and the arts is a plus.
