Lydiate Learning Trust is seeking a proactive and customer‑focused IT Technician to join our expanding Trust‑wide IT team. You will be the first point of contact for staff and students, providing high‑quality technical support and helping to ensure our IT systems run smoothly and efficiently across all academies in the Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, supporting others, and working with a wide range of technologies in a friendly and education‑focused environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing first‑line technical support to staff and students across the Trust
- Maintaining and monitoring school IT systems, devices and networks
- Installing and configuring hardware, software and peripheral equipment
- Managing mobile devices and maintaining accurate asset records
- Ensuring systems such as SIMS and other school applications run effectively
- Supporting teaching and learning through scheduled curriculum IT support
- Contributing to the IT knowledge base and improving internal processes
- Working closely with the IT Manager and Network Manager to maintain reliable, secure IT services
What We’re Looking For
- GCSEs (A*–C / 9–4) in English and Maths, or equivalent
- An IT qualification (e.g., CompTIA, BTEC, NVQ, or similar)
- Strong IT skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office
- At least one year’s experience in an IT support role
- Experience using and maintaining IT systems, resolving hardware/software issues, and operating a help desk
- Good understanding of IT security, data protection and confidentiality
- Excellent communication, customer service and organisational skills
- Ability to work calmly under pressure, manage workload and prioritise effectively
- Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle for travel between Trust schools
- Satisfactory DBS check (Enhanced DBS required upon appointment)
- Experience working in a school or educational setting
- Experience using SIMS, Go4Schools or other MIS platforms
