About The Role

Lycetts Insurance Brokers, who are proudly part of Benefact Group, are looking for a New Business Account Handler to join our Newcastle Upon Tyne, or Catterick office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join Lycetts as a New Business Account Handler, where you’ll deliver high-quality insurance support to clients and prospects, with a focus on new business leads. You’ll manage enquiries from start to finish, ensuring accurate, compliant processing and acting as a key point of contact to provide advice and build strong relationships. Working with your Team Manager, you’ll help drive conversion and growth by identifying cross‑selling and upselling opportunities, while liaising with insurers and negotiating terms within your authority to ensure a smooth and professional service.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage new business leads and quotations through to conversion for the team/region.
  • Prepare, present and proactively follow up quotations, confirming cover where appropriate.
  • Build strong relationships with prospects and guide them through quotation to placement.
  • Deliver a high level of client service, responding to correspondence within 24 hours.
  • Handle post‑sale administration including invoicing (within 7 days) and payment setup.
  • Identify upselling and cross‑referral opportunities to support conversion targets.
  • Maintain accurate data, ensure compliance, and continuously develop product, industry and professional expertise.

What you’ll need to have

  • Experience in general insurance or a similar client‑handling/business environment.
  • Experience of processing new business, including quotation, placement and policy documentation.
  • Demonstrable experience of liaising with insurers and clients directly.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of accounts, including cross‑selling opportunities.
  • Cert CII qualification (or working towards) or demonstrable equivalent industry experience.
