About The Role
Lycetts Insurance Brokers, who are proudly part of Benefact Group, are looking for a Claims Handler/Senior Claims Handler to join the Claims Team in our Head Office in Newcastle, or one of our Regional Claims Hubs based in Edinburgh, Charlbury, Northampton or Catterick.
Lycetts is a well-established independent insurance broker with a focus on farms, estates, and rural businesses. We also offer bespoke financial services, high-net-worth household coverage, commercial and bloodstock insurance and risk management advice.
As a Claims Handler, you will play a crucial role in managing the claims process for Lycetts’ clients under the guidance of a team manager. This role holds responsibility for the effective management of all client claims. The role has authority to deal with insurers, their appointed suppliers and clients as necessary to complete the claims journey.

Key Responsibilities
- To act as Claims Handler within the Lycetts UK Claims Centre of Excellence servicing all offices nationwide.
- To manage the claims journey efficiently and within the Lycetts agreed service levels.
- Delivery of proactive and client focused claims handling.
- Develop positive meaningful relations with external parties including clients, Insurance Companies, Loss Adjusters, and other Third Party Suppliers
- Develop strong positive relationships with the nationwide placement teams within Lycetts
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- Previous claims experience handing Commercial &/or High Net Worth Personal Lines Claims
- Knowledge of wide range of insurance products (desirable)
- Experience in identifying & obtaining relevant claims information from clients via telephone & email
- Confident and well executed communication skills, with the ability to deliver ‘difficult’ messages when required
- Proven negotiating skills
- Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements within a claims handling role
- CII – Certificate in Insurance (or equivalent/above) desirable, or a commitment to work to attain qualifications on employment
