Position to be filled from: From 4th November 2024
Role and Key Responsibilities:
- As Chef Assistant, manages and contributes to the production of meals in the kitchen according to selected recipes and instruction cards.
- Substitutes for the Chef in his absence.
- Supervises the meals production team and reports to the Chef.
- Complies with H.A.C.C.P. food hygiene regulations and logs relevant information into the traceability system.
- Contributes to and ensures maintenance and cleanliness of the catering premises and equipment.
- Attends committees for menu selection.
- Is proactive and uses technical skills to improve operations and performance of the department.
- Is reliable and rigorous while able to adapt quickly and responsively to meet Department requirements.
Expected Skills and Knowledge:
- Masters cooking techniques.
- Knows H.A.C.C.P. method thoroughly and strictly adheres to food safety regulations.
- Deals efficiently with time constraints.
- Uses and maintains kitchen equipment correctly and according to manufacturer’s recommendation.
- Manages the team and the production according to needs.
- Is capable of working on his/her own initiative and taking responsibilities.
- Has computer literacy for using relevant software applications when substituting for the Chef.
- Good command of English, at least spoken.
- Is rigorous.
Working hours per year: 40 hrs per week, Monday to Friday from 7am to 3pm. These hours may vary during school holidays.
Workplace: South Kensington however you will be based in Wandsworth SW18 4LT for the whole duration of the school year 2024-2025.
Gross monthly salary and benefits:
- Employer contribution to private healthcare.
- 15% employer contribution to private pension.
- 60 days paid holiday per annum.
