We are recruiting on behalf of a growing precision engineering business specialising in CNC machining (milling and turning), heat treatment, and surface finishing. Supplying into sectors such as aerospace and defence, the company is expanding and investing in both its people and facilities.

The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shop Floor Manager to lead and support production within a busy engineering environment. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who can lead from the front while ensuring production targets, quality standards, and team performance are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support a team of engineers and machine operators
  • Oversee daily shop floor operations to ensure productivity and efficiency
  • Provide hands-on support with machining and production when required
  • Ensure all work is carried out to high quality and safety standards
  • Manage workloads, prioritise jobs, and coordinate with other departments
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes and performance

Requirements

  • Strong engineering background within machining or manufacturing
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role on the shop floor
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to support production when needed
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Proactive, organised, and solution-focused mindset
  • Experience within CNC / precision engineering environments (desirable)
