L Y Recruitment are proud to be recruiting on behalf of Rayden Engineering, a leading Mechanical and Civil Engineering contractor delivering major Oil, Gas and Utility Infrastructure projects throughout the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity for an Environmental professional looking to make a significant impact within a growing engineering and construction business.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating environmental activities across the business, supporting both head office operations and construction projects nationwide. You will play a key role in maintaining ISO14001 accreditation, ensuring legal compliance, driving environmental best practice and supporting the continual improvement of environmental performance throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and monitor Environmental Management Plans across multiple projects
- Maintain and improve ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems
- Manage environmental audits, inspections and compliance programmes
- Support environmental permits, consents and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with clients, contractors, the Environment Agency and regulatory bodies
- Lead legal compliance verification activities
- Deliver environmental training, inductions and awareness programmes
- Support project teams with environmental planning and compliance requirements
- Assist with RAMS preparation and environmental risk assessments
- Investigate incidents and identify improvement opportunities
- Produce detailed monthly reports for Directors and Senior Management
- Drive a positive environmental culture throughout the business
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years' Environmental Management experience
- IEMA Foundation Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Strong knowledge of Environmental Legislation and Compliance
- Experience working with ISO14001 Management Systems
- Experience conducting Environmental Audits
- Understanding of Construction, Utilities, Civil Engineering or Infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations advantageous
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong IT and reporting skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
