Job Title: Warehouse Operative & Van Driver
Reports to: Warehouse & Distribution Manager
Depot: LWC Cornwall
Main Duties
Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse & Distribution Manager and Depot Manager, the purpose of the Warehouse Operative will be to complete tasks which assist the day-to-day running of the Warehouse, the upkeep of the warehouse, the organisation of bin bay locations, and to ensure correct storage of all products. The role is quite physical, and manual handling is one of the main requirements. To deliver products to customers within a specific area in a safe and friendly manner. Responsible for the care and upkeep of your designated vehicle. To provide excellent customer service standards to every customer.
Key Skills
Adhering to good warehouse practices and following correct health and safety procedures at all times.
Wearing appropriate PPE on site, including safety boots, gloves, and high-visibility vests.
Accurately picking orders and placing them in the correct delivery locations.
Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to Supervisors or Managers for timely reordering.
Ensuring all new stock is promptly and correctly stored in the designated bin-bay location, matching the delivery note.
Assisting with weekly stock audits and monthly weekend stock takes.
Completing documentation such as out-of-date lists, damaged stock write-off sheets, and forklift/pedestrian truck records.
Supporting drivers as a second man/driverβs mate when required.
Demonstrating flexibility in workload prioritisation and a willingness to assist in the warehouse when needed.
Van Driver Responsibilities
Preparing the delivery vehicle by conducting daily operator maintenance checks, ensuring it is roadworthy and clean.
Safely loading products onto the vehicle, ensuring accuracy and security of goods for transport.
Planning delivery routes efficiently based on run sheets, customer requests, and traffic conditions to ensure timely deliveries.
Delivering goods to customers professionally and courteously, maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Completing all delivery documentation, including delivery notes, return sheets, and payment collections.
Handling special delivery instructions and requests as noted on delivery paperwork.
Returning empty cases and gas bottles, ensuring they are unloaded and stored correctly in the designated yard area.
Maintaining confidentiality regarding customer premises and operational details.
Completing all required vehicle and delivery checks and submitting check sheets to the Distribution Manager.
Representing the company professionally by wearing the correct LWC Drinks uniform and maintaining a presentable appearance.
Supporting warehouse operations when not on delivery runs, contributing to team efficiency and flexibility.
Knowledge and Experience:

8 Hour day, between 6am-6pm
